Lost

Lost Have you ever been physically lost?  Maybe as a child? Or as an adult have you ever been lost on a trip or in a bad part of town? Perhaps out camping or hiking, have you ever lost your way? How did that event make you feel; did you feel safe, secure, comfortable?  When we're lost we take great comfort, and have great relief, when someone recognizes that we're missing or we're not where we said we would be and seeks us out. Guidance is sought out, directions are given, perhaps search parties are sent out; help is on the way, you'll be safe soon.  As a young boy I got lost in the mall after seeing a movie with my family and some friends. They didn't realize I was gone until later when I wasn't at home where I was supposed to be. But as soon as I saw Mom, I came running to her so happy and relieved that she came to get me. My family loved me enough to come find me, they sought me out, they retrieved me. Satan, and the world, would have u...

I Never Knew You

I Never Knew You “Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of My Father in heaven.  Many will say to Me in that day, ‘Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in Your name, cast out demons in Your name, and done many wonders in Your name?’  And then I will declare to them, ‘ I never knew you ; depart from Me, you who practice lawlessness!’ (Matt. 7:21-23 NKJV) Why, one may inquire, should we study our bibles? Perhaps the inner dialogue may go like this: "I'm a good person, I'm doing okay in this life, God knows I love Him and I know what I'm supposed to be doing...I go to church! Why, I've heard gospel preaching all my life! God loves me and I love Him, that's sufficient to save me. Besides, God knows that there is only so much one could do in a day, He's such a loving God so He'll overlook me not opening my bible regularly." It's interesting that we can justify to ourselves w...

Quit Murdering Your Savior

Quit Murdering Your Savior "For it is impossible, in the case of those who have once been enlightened, who have tasted the heavenly gift, and have shared in the Holy Spirit, and have tasted the goodness of the word of God and the powers of the age to come, and then have fallen away, to restore them again to repentance, since they are crucifying once again the Son of God to their own harm and holding Him up to contempt." ~ Hebrews 6:4-6 (ESV) When we, who have been saved, return to a life of sinning and refuse to repent of our sins then we're putting our Savior back up on the cross. We're murdering Him again and again and again! Do we not see our sins for what they are?! Friends and brethren, wake up to the reality that no sin is too small to separate us from our God and our Savior for eternity. All sin is serious and we shall not escape the mighty hand of the Lord - we will be judged eternally for every sin we do not repent of and get right before God. How...
