The Lord Will Make A Way

The Lord Will Make A Way

"So the Egyptians pursued them, all the horses and chariots of Pharaoh, his horsemen and his army, and overtook them camping by the sea beside Pi Hahiroth, before Baal Zephon. And when Pharaoh drew near, the children of Israel lifted their eyes, and behold, the Egyptians marched after them. So they were very afraid, and the children of Israel cried out to the Lord. Then they said to Moses, “Because there were no graves in Egypt, have you taken us away to die in the wilderness? Why have you so dealt with us, to bring us up out of Egypt? Is this not the word that we told you in Egypt, saying, ‘Let us alone that we may serve the Egyptians’? For it would have been better for us to serve the Egyptians than that we should die in the wilderness.” And Moses said to the people, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which He will accomplish for you today. For the Egyptians whom you see today, you shall see again no more forever. The Lord will fight for you, and you shall hold your peace.” And the Lord said to Moses, “Why do you cry to Me? Tell the children of Israel to go forward..."
(Ex.14:9-14)

Have you ever had one of these moments? You escape evil only to look back and see it pursuing you. You're so blinded with fear that you fail to see the pillar of cloud, the Lord's mighty power, surrounding and guiding you. What lacks is the will to take that step toward the vast sea before you and the faith to trust the Lord will make a way - though you may not see any conceivable way of that taking place.

God has worked mighty works throughout time as we read in His word, He makes the impossible easy and the seemingly insurmountable odds as nothing before us. With God all things are possible -- do we not see it (Matt.19:25-26)? With the Lord, through the blood of His Son, we can have redemption -- think of this!! If God makes it possible for the defiled - that would be you and me with our transgressions against Him (Rom.3:23; Rom.6:23) -- to not just be washed but fully cleansed, pure, and holy before Him...if God makes THAT possible for us, then what else is there on earth greater than that? Do we not think our Lord can and will deliver us from whatever comes our way?

Consider that the way of deliverance in our minds can be much like our spiritual ancestors of old. We see the enemy pursue us and all we see before us is the inescapable and vast sea. This is what we see with carnal eyes, yet when we see with spiritual eyes, we see our Lord making a way of escape and guiding us to safety every time. We may not know the means, but we know the way -- that way is always following our Lord, never leaving Him and trusting Him with all we have and are. God will surely deliver, will we believe Him? Will we follow Him?

You may see a vast sea before you today, you may look and see the fierce enemy in hot pursuit, you may be tempted to leave God in your heart or in your actions -- friend, trust the Lord will make a way and overcome the sin (1Cor.10:13). Don't allow fear to freeze you -- repeat these words of David as he said in Psalm 27:1-4

"The Lord is my light and my salvation; Whom shall I fear? The Lord is the strength of my life; Of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked came against me To eat up my flesh, My enemies and foes, They stumbled and fell. Though an army may encamp against me, My heart shall not fear; Though war may rise against me, In this I will be confident. One thing I have desired of the Lord, That will I seek: That I may dwell in the house of the Lord All the days of my life, To behold the beauty of the Lord, And to inquire in His temple."
What are we afraid of, our God is the Lord Almighty?!! With the Lord, we shall overcome -- without Him, we will most assuredly be overrun.

Follow Him this day and let's cross that sea -- may we journey, side-by-side friend, toward that blessed Promised Land today to reside with our Lord forever
