Lord, Come Quickly

"He who testifies to these things says, 'Surely I am coming quickly.' Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus!" ~Rev.22:20

Can you and I, with confidence, say these same words? Do we want our Lord to return, right now, in the state we are in at this very moment in time? Are we ready to meet our Lord and be judged for eternity?

Think over your actions today, think hard.
Was your life today a reflection of your Lord and Savior? How did you act?
What did you say? What did you allow your eyes to see and ears to hear?
What did you think about today? How was the quality of your prayer life, study time, and meditation upon God's word? How is the state of your soul right now, stronger for today or weaker?

Where would you go for eternity if you were to be judged by God, right now?

"And there is no creature hidden from His sight, but all things are naked and open to the eyes of Him to whom we must give account." ~Heb.4:13
What effect does this verse have on you?
Does this chill you to the bone because you know your actions and your life are not pleasing? How is your faithfulness to God, your conviction, your obedience, your trust in Him and His promises?
Hopefully this verse causes you to take inventory of your life and make the necessary corrections if there is anything lacking. Hopefully we all keep this in the forefront of our minds and let the knowledge that for each thing we do we will give account to God. Nothing, nothing is hidden from His sight.

Our every action, thought, word, and intention will be judged by our Lord. Are you ready for that? Am I?

If not, why not? What are we going to do about it?

"Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God." ~Heb.12:1-2

Identify whatever is in the way of you having a full assurance of Heaven, by comparing your life to God's word, and get busy making those corrections. Repent while there is time.

Let's strive to make sure that we're pure and holy before our Lord.
I would like to offer some admonitions to us all:
  • Let your light shine today, and every day (Mt.5:14-15)
  • Let all that you do bring glory to the name of God (Mt.5:16)
  • Do not give anyone an opportunity to blaspheme the name of God because of your misconduct (1Pet.4:11-14; 1Tim.6:1; Ti.2:3-5; 2Pet.2:1-2)
  • Love God with all you have (Deut.6:5; Mt.22:37-40; 1Cor.16:22)
  • Demonstrate that love for God by being obedient to everything He has commanded  (Jn.14:15; 15:9-11)
  • Strictly adhere to the word of God, do not stray, do not compromise His truth (Mt.7:13-14; Jude 1:3; Eph.6:13)
  • Realize that God's approval is the most important; choosing to serve God won't always please those in our earthly relationships and interactions, we may even upset our own earthly family by choosing to stand with God (Matt.10:34-35)
  • Understand that God will see you through every heartache, every trial, every mountain and valley you will ever face; lean upon Him and trust Him (Prov.3:5-6)
  • Live in such a way that you look forward to when you will meet Him face to face and be judged for your deeds done in the flesh (2Pet.3:9-16)
  • Thank God for every day, every moment He allows you to live, every moment He has been longsuffering with you and with others; take nothing in this life for granted; see the things of life through the eyes of spiritual (2Pet.3:8-9)
  • Live in such a way that you have the assurance of hearing, "Well done, good and faithful servant..." when this life is over. (Mt.25:21; Mt.7:15-25)
Let's consider how seriously we're actually taking the commandments of God, whether we're doing all that we can in service to Him, and make corrections where needed.

Life is short, friends, make every moment count.
