Light Dwells With Him

"Daniel answered and said: “Blessed be the name of God forever and ever, For wisdom and might are His. And He changes the times and the seasons; He removes kings and raises up kings; He gives wisdom to the wise And knowledge to those who have understanding. He reveals deep and secret things; He knows what is in the darkness, And light dwells with Him..." (Dan.2:20-22)

These truths stand even today. Our God is in control of all and His word endures forever. He has surely revealed deep and secret things through His word and we have the opportunity and privilege to learn and obey the word of our God (2Tim.3:16-17; 2Tim.2:15). Only our Lord knows what truly lies in the darkness, for He knows and sees all, and because of the evil that seeks to prey upon us, He gives us His light. This light, the light of His Son, shines in the darkness and the darkness cannot comprehend it (Jn.1:1-9). Evil forces of life seek to grab us, wrestle us down, snatch us from the hand of our God but our gracious and merciful Lord gives us the tools and strength to defeat evil every time it seeks to reach out and enslave us (1Cor.10:12-13; Eph.6:10-17; Jms.4:7-10; 1Pet.5:8-9).

Friend, choose the light of God. Be the light of God by reflecting His Son in your life every moment of every day (Matt.5:13-16; Eph.5:8-11).

Cast off the darkness of sin that surrounds us all daily and press onward toward heaven, for He plainly says, "...For he who sows to his flesh will of the flesh reap corruption, but he who sows to the Spirit will of the Spirit reap everlasting life..." (Gal.6:7-9).

We all have a choice, may we choose the light by choosing our Lord and so dwell with Him when this mortal flesh is put off (1Jn.1:5-7).

Efficient

Efficient. I like this word; better yet, I like for things to work in this manner. Here's what it means: "performing or functioning in the best possible manner with the least waste of time and effort; having and using requisite knowledge, skill, and industry; competent; capable" There is no sense, in my mind, in doing something inefficiently. Why waste time doing something another way? When there is a prescribed way to do something, there's often a very good reason as to why, and to act outside the bounds of that way is illogical. While this word, efficient, is one you'll be hard-pressed to find in scripture, the concept is all throughout God's word. The best way to be efficient is to obey God. To act outside the bounds of God's word is inefficient. That's it. So much, in my mind, is black and white; it either is or it is not; it either is "yes" or it is "no" and I don't believe much else in life is an exception to that rul
