Beauty Of The Lord

In just a few moments, this same sky can turn from deep yellow, orange, and reddish hues to more blue and brighter yellows. The difference from one to the next is the introduction of more light. As the sun comes up, the light continues to dispel the darkness and the sky becomes clearer.

Do you see the parallel?

"...And leaving Nazareth, He came and dwelt in Capernaum, which is by the sea, in the regions of Zebulun and Naphtali, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “The land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, by the way of the sea, beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the Gentiles: The people who sat in darkness have seen a great light, And upon those who sat in the region and shadow of death Light has dawned.” (Matt.4:13-16)

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was in the beginning with God. All things were made through Him, and without Him nothing was made that was made. In Him was life, and the life was the light of men. And the light shines in the darkness, and the darkness did not comprehend it. There was a man sent from God, whose name was John. This man came for a witness, to bear witness of the Light, that all through him might believe. He was not that Light, but was sent to bear witness of that Light. That was the true Light which gives light to every man coming into the world." (Jn.1:1-9)

"But the path of the just is like the shining sun, that shines ever brighter unto the perfect day. The way of the wicked is like darkness; they do not know what makes them stumble." (Prov.4:18-19)

The beauty of being a Christian can be compared to the light of the morning sun that rises and brings a new day. We arise out of the darkness of sin by coming in humble obedience to our Lord, and in return He opens up the glory of heaven through His word and provides us with the blessed gift of salvation through His Son, which illuminates our whole life. We "walk in the light as He is in the light" and we enjoy the precious blessing of being saved from the bondage of sin. We look forward to serving God each day we arise, the Lord is the Light of our lives and without Him we are, and have, nothing. The love of God is renewed daily as we are blessed to rise to see a new day and we glory in His judgments (2Cor.4:16-18; Ps.84; Ps.97; Ps.9).

What a blessing to serve the Lord; what a terror to forsake Him. Serve the Lord, friends, there is no other way to live this life that makes any sense:

"Serve the Lord with fear, And rejoice with trembling." (Ps.2:11)
